Andrew Burns is an Instructional Design Specialist at Iron Mountain that creates engaging learning experiences for a global sales team within the Sales Enablement team. Some of his responsibilities include parterning with subject matter experts to analyze training needs, evaluating measureable objectives, and building innovative content using a variety of formats like e-learnings, videos, job aids, simulations, and roleplays. This role has allowed Andrew to demonstrate his passion for leveraging emerging AI technologies and other innovative tools to enhance learning and retention for his learners. His training incorporates many adult learning and learning design principles to ensure that the learning material is easily understood by his colleagues. He has experience using many e-learning programs including Articulate Rise and Storyline 360, Camtasia, and WordPress to create a custom learning repository site called FindLaw University.
In addition to Andrew's learning design and instructional design skills, he possesses valuable skills that he learned from the Univeristy of Minnesota Full Stack Web Development Bootcamp. In the program, Andrew learned how to use many sought after programing languages for front-end and back-end web development including JavaScript, Node, SQL, MongoDB, and React to name a few. He built projects with fellow classmates in the program that you can take a look at in his Web Developer portfolio below. He is currently working as a freelance front-end developer and his first project includes designing a website for his wife's business in Music Therapy.
Andrew likes to spend a lot of his personal time spending time with his wife, being active outdoors, playing the guitar, and learning more about whatever interests him at the moment.
